Project Type: Web Design
Skills Needed: WordPress, Graphic Design, Photo editing and optimization
Customer: Town of Edmonston
Website: edmonstonmd.gov
Context
The Town of Edmonston had a website that was old and written in outdated code, making it difficult to update, and nearly impossible to navigate on mobile devices. The town wanted a new website that would look good and showcase the values of the town. The website also needed to be user-friendly, easy for residents to navigate and use on all devices, and easy for town staff to update.
Website Organization
With 60+ pages, an ever-increasing number of blog posts, and 100+ documents, site organization and clear navigation, along with a search bar, help site visitors find the information they want. In addition to the main navigation, the site has quick links to popular pages on the top bar and footer. An event calendar with upcoming events visible on the sidebar keeps visitors up-to-date.
Design
The predominant colors are the town colors of green and yellow. The town values green living in a diverse and vibrant community. A slider that visually communicates these values in action is the focal point of the home page.
